By simply adding blender fabrics or solids to your fabric leftovers, you’d be able to create stunning, interesting shapes and designs in your project. You can create a beautiful Kaleidoscopic effect, a mesmerizing zigzag pattern, interlinked rings, a cute bow tie ensemble (like the ones pictured below), and many more!
The additional fabric will completely change the look and feel of your scraps. White or light colored fabrics in particular will make the fun in and color of your fabric scraps stand out! Adding solid, dark colored fabrics could also deliver the same stunning effect on quilted projects. Black, for example is an excellent color to use. The blender fabrics work well in bridging or harmonizing various patterns and colors and serve to unify the quilt as a whole. It’s like painting on a blank canvas! But if you’re a beginner, be careful with using solid fabrics when sewing and piecing, as they can show up errors easily. If you have a favorite fabric, you can apply this simple method to make it pop.
Below are some gorgeous quilt projects that made use of this simple method of adding blender fabrics. Be sure to click on the images to check out the tutorials for each quilted item. Some have free downloadable pattern, so do check them out!
