Ever looked at the edge of your fabric and think how pretty the markings are? Well, this list Fabric Selvage Projects will make you wish you’ve saved them.
Here are some of my favorite projects using fabric selvage:
I love this pair of shoes! The fabric selvage gave the plain white shoes some life and character. It’s very easy to make, you simply need decoupage medium, paintbrush, and lots of fabric selvage.
2. Ruffle Scarf
This scarf is gorgeous! It looks like it would take a long time to finish one but it only takes minutes using just thread, ruffler foot, muslin, and of course the selvage fabric.
3. Office Chair
If you have an old-looking office or sewing machine chair, revamp it by covering it with fabric selvage! For this project, it’s best to use selvages that are one-inch think or more, to get a good overlap.
You’ll never know what the possibilities are with fabric selvage. You can make virtually anything out of them, even postcards! They certainly look stunning and go well in the mail. You simply need to make a selvage block and attach it to a postcard. This project was sewn, but I think you can use adhesive, instead.
